Longhorns extend pair of offers to out-of-state recruits

Posted February 21st, 2018

The Longhorns extended a pair of offers to elite out-of-state recruits in the 2019 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon when 4-star running back Jerrion Early (Miss.) and 5-star defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele (Hawaii) announced new offers via Twitter. Texas is yet to gain a commitment at either position at the 2019 class.

Tuitele is the No. 23-ranked player in the nation and the second-ranked defensive tackle in the 2019 class, per 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot-4, 299-pound prospect would play nose tackle in Texas’ odd-man defensive front. He holds 30 other offers.

Early is a running back recruit who committed to Ole Miss in December. The Longhorns like him as an all-purpose back who can also play slot receiver. As a junior, Early gained 971 yards as a rusher and 609 yards as a receiver, accounting for 26 total touchdowns.
