The mountains were calling, and Vince Young went

Posted February 26th, 2018

To borrow a phrase from Texas great Matthew McConaughey, Vince Young seems to be L-I-V-I-N’ these days.

The Texas Longhorn great is a BCS National Champion, first-round NFL Draft pick and now an accomplished mountain climber.

Young, along with another fomer Longhorn, Nate Boyer, scaled one of the tallest mountains in the world over the weekend when they reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

The expedition was part of Waterboys, an organization led by two-time Super Bowl champion Chris Long that “unites players and fans from across the NFL in support of one mission: bringing life-sustaining well water to East African communities in need.”

In the Instagram note, Young writes: “We made it everyone even your boy did!! When people tell you that you can’t do one thing for me look them dead in their eyes and say watch me!!!🤘🙏Thanks @waterboysorg team!!”

Long tweeted this after the group reached summit:

Long also tweeted this group shot earlier on the trip:
