Texas is in a two-team race for 4-star safety Kenyatta Watson II. The Loganville High School (Ga.) product announced Monday morning on Twitter that his final two teams are the Longhorns and Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish are in the driver’s seat, but Tom Herman’s program is still with a chance since it made the cut.

Watson is the 15th-ranked safety in the nation and the No. 222-ranked overall prospect in the 2019 class. Texas signed three safeties in the 2018 class, but DeMarvion Overshown could grow into a linebacker. The Longhorns want at least two more safeties in the 2019 class with the candidates being Watson II, Jamal Morris, Lewis Cine, Jalen Catalon, Demani Richardson and Erick Young.
