The prize of the 2018 offseason is set to announce Saturday when Rice grad transfer Calvin Anderson will pick between Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan and Auburn. The Westlake native signed with Rice in the 2014 class as an unheralded recruit. As a grad transfer, Anderson became the most coveted offensive tackle available before the start of the 2018 season.

Texas is in good position with Anderson. The Longhorns were already high on the Austin-native’s list and that admiration grew when Tom Herman added former Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand to his staff while Hand was recruiting Anderson to Auburn. Now, the focus for Hand is to land Anderson and plug him into the starting left tackle position.
Jordan Whittington, the No. 1 player on the initial 2019 Fabulous 55, is also set to announce his college destination on Saturday at 2 p.m. Whittington is considering the Longhorns, Texas A&M, UCLA and Florida. Texas signed the third best class in the nation in 2018 and hold two commitments in the 2019 class.
