On Sunday, Texas used 13 hits to rally past Oklahoma State during an eventful afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. UT moved to 5-1 in Big 12 play with its 10-5 conquest.
Oklahoma State took a 3-1 lead during a third inning that featured the ejections of UT coach David Pierce and idle pitcher Nolan Kingham. Two innings later, Texas stormed to a 4-3 lead as Kody Clemens, Ryan Reynolds and Masen Hibbeler delivered run-scoring hits with two outs.
Texas distanced itself with five runs in the seventh session. Clemens later crushed his seventh home run of the season. UT freshman Bryce Elder earned the win in relief as the Longhorn bullpen threw six innings of two-run baseball.
Texas (15-10) returns to action on Tuesday against Texas State. Kingham, who has become a midweek option out of UT’s bullpen, will be suspended for the road game because of his ejection.
