Due to weather threat, Texas to play Oklahoma State twice on Friday

Posted April 19th, 2018

Ahead of this weekend’s series against Oklahoma State, Texas is eyeing its scouting reports and weather radar.

Due to the threat of inclement weather, UT has rescheduled a game it was set to play on Saturday afternoon. Texas and Oklahoma State will now play a double-header on Friday. The Big 12 series will conclude on Sunday morning, and Texas will honor its four seniors at McCombs Field that day.

Friday’s double-header between Texas (26-16; 9-1) and No. 24 Oklahoma State (32-13; 10-2) will begin at 4:30 p.m. The first game will be broadcast live on Longhorn Network. The airing of the second contest will be delayed.

Texas baseball coach David Pierce told reporters on Thursday that UT’s baseball team will still attempt to play on Saturday. For the second game of a three-game series, the Longhorns and New Orleans are scheduled to meet at 2:30 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. Since UT has a game scheduled on the following Tuesday, Pierce said he would prefer to not play a double-header on Sunday.
