Texas secured a tight end for the 2019 class on Tuesday when Brayden Liebrock, a three-star from Chandler (Ariz.) pledged to the Longhorns. Tom Herman’s program isn’t done at the position, evidenced by Temple tight end Jared Wiley including Texas among his top three schools along with Houston and Missouri. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect is expected to decide before his senior season.
Wiley caught 25 passes for 323 yards and four touchdowns as a junior. He might start at quarterback for Temple as a senior. Wiley isn’t as polished as Liebrock or Texas A&M commit Baylor Cupp, but his frame and upside are enough to intrigue the Longhorns. He was offered on Feb. 19 and took an unofficial visit to Texas for a spring practice.
