Behind pitcher Nolan Kingham’s complete game and Masen Hibbeler’s 2 RBIs, Texas began its weekend with a one-run win over TCU.
With the victory at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Thursday, Texas (35-18; 15-7) continued to stalk Oklahoma State in the Big 12 standings. Texas trailed the first-place Cowboys by two games as both teams entered their final three-game series of the regular season.
At the time of UT’s final out, Oklahoma State was trailing 8-1 in the seventh inning of its home game against Texas Tech.

UT scored the game’s first two runs on a groundout and a sacrifice fly, the latter of which was produced in the third inning by junior Masen Hibbeler. Hibbeler then hit his fourth home run of the season in the fifth frame, a solo shot that gave Texas a 3-0 lead.
That offense was enough to support Kingham, who earned his seventh win of the year. Kingham allowed six hits and one walk. Kingham threw 116 pitches, but four of his six strikeouts were recorded over his final three innings.
Texas and TCU (30-20; 10-11) will resume their series on Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
