Following its first scrimmage, Texas adds three defenders to its injury report

Posted August 12th, 2018

The Texas defense took home the win at the football team’s first scrimmage on Saturday, but that victory came at a price.

On Sunday, Texas announced that three defensive players suffered injuries in Saturday’s scrimmage. Senior cornerback Davante Davis (hamstring) and freshman linebacker Ayodele Adeoye (knee) were added to the injury report. Freshman DeMarvion Overshown, a defensive back who recently moved to linebacker in the wake of Jeffrey McCulloch’s pectoral injury, also hurt his knee.

The severity of these injuries was not revealed by Texas. A press release stated the players are “currently being treated and evaluated.”

Davis has started 14 times in his collegiate career. Adeoye is a four-star recruit who went through spring drills with the Longhorns. Overshown is a four-star member of Texas’ 2018 recruiting class.
