UPDATE (4:38 p.m.): Texas has ruled Sam Ehlinger out for the remainder of Saturday’s game.
Texas sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been removed from this afternoon’s game against Baylor with a shoulder injury.
Ehlinger was injured on the first drive of Saturday’s showdown at Royal-Memorial Stadium. He was initially removed by officials who spotted blood on his hand. After spending time in the locker room, it was determined that Ehlinger had injured his shoulder.
Texas announced that Ehlinger will be evaluated at halftime.
In Ehlinger’s place, the Longhorns will go with junior Shane Buechele. Buechele started in UT’s wins over Baylor during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
For what it's worth, Shane Buechele has started UT's last two games against Baylor and led the Longhorns to wins. #HookEm
