Buford High School (Ga.) released a statement regarding four-star running back Derrian Brown, who signed with the Longhorns in December. Buford is reporting that Brown underwent surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain on Thursday. The 5-foot-11, 188-pound prospect picked Texas over 29 other offers and was one of two players from Georgia to sign with Texas in the 2019 cycle.
Brown is the only running back signed with Texas in the 2019 class, which ranks third in the nation. Brown is the No. 12-ranked running back in the cycle and a top-220 national player. He’s set to enroll in the summer.
