Due to Saturday’s rainy forecast, the baseball teams from Texas and Oklahoma have rearranged their schedule.
Texas and Oklahoma will engage in a double-header at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Friday. The Longhorns and Sooners were scheduled to close out their regular seasons on Saturday afternoon. The two teams will now battle on Friday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The Red River Rivalry series will still get underway at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Stuck in ninth place in the Big 12’s standings, Texas (26-25; 6-14) will need to perform well against Oklahoma in order to qualify for the conference’s eight-team tournament. In order to reach the postseason, Texas must either sweep Oklahoma or win twice while having Kansas sweep Kansas State. Kansas and Kansas State’s three-game series does not get underway until Friday evening.
With one win, Oklahoma (31-20, 9-12) can secure its spot in the Big 12 tournament.
