With The Revolution set as an opening act, Texas announces a kickoff time for the Kansas game

Posted September 24th, 2019

When Texas returns to Royal-Memorial Stadium next month, it will be for a prime-time event.

Texas and Kansas will kickoff at 6 p.m. on Oct. 19, the Longhorns revealed on Tuesday. The Longhorn Network will televise the contest.

Texas also announced that The Revolution will be the headliner for Longhorn City Limits on Oct. 19. Prince’s former band will perform on the LBJ Lawn prior to that evening’s kickoff.

The Kansas game will be UT’s first at Royal-Memorial Stadium in nearly a month. The Longhorns are off this week and will then travel to West Virginia on Oct. 5. The following weekend, Texas will meet Oklahoma in Dallas.

Following last year’s 24-17 win on the road, Texas owns a 15-3 lead in its series with Kansas. The Jayhawks have never beaten Texas in Austin.
