Posted October 21st, 2019

The Texas softball team added two infielders to its 2020 recruiting class over the weekend.

On Sunday, Abilene High senior Alyssa Washington announced that will continue playing softball in Austin. The Bowie County Citizens Tribune also reported that New Boston’s Carlee Ratcliff had pledged to UT.

Washington was once committed to North Carolina. Ratcliff is an ex-Iowa State recruit.

According to the Citizens Tribune, Ratcliff hit .525 with 12 home runs, 15 doubles and 53 RBIs during her junior year. Washington was District 3-6A’s offensive player of the year this past spring.

Texas’ 2020 recruiting class has received a half-dozen commitments. Those recruits can officially sign with Texas on Nov. 13.
