Big 12 reveals kickoff time for Texas’ trip to Iowa State

Posted November 4th, 2019

For the third time in a three-game span, the Texas Longhorns will attempt to star in an afternoon time slot.

Texas and Iowa State will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, the Big 12 announced on Monday. The game will be held at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. Fox Sports 1 will televise the event.

Ahead of this season, Texas and Iowa State were picked to finish second and third in the Big 12’s preseason poll. Entering this week, the Longhorns (5-3; 3-2 Big 12) and Cyclones (5-3; 3-2) are tied for third place in the conference standings.

Before they can start focusing on each other, Texas and Iowa State’s unranked programs must both take on ranked foes this weekend. Texas has a home game scheduled against No. 20 Kansas State (6-2; 3-2) on Saturday afternoon. (Texas is coming off a loss to TCU on Oct. 26 that also kicked off at 2:30 p.m.) Meanwhile, Iowa State is set to see No. 9 Oklahoma (7-1; 4-1) in Norman, Okla.

Texas and Iowa State have played 16 times before. The Longhorns have been victorious in 14 of those meetings. Iowa State’s last victory in the series was a 24-0 trouncing in Ames in 2015. Since that shutout, Texas has posted 27-6, 17-7 and 24-10 wins over the Cyclones.
