Last season, Elish hit .315 over her 124 at-bats with six home runs and 27 RBIs.
Elish was also effective as a pitcher for the Longhorns during their season-opening run at McCombs Field. Over 10 innings, she went 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA and 18 strikeouts.
Despite its strong start, Texas remained ranked sixth in the NFCA poll this week. Texas will travel to Mexico this week for a Puerto Vallarta College Challenge that include games against No. 12 Tennessee (2-1) and Mexico’s national team.
