For the third straight season, the women’s golf team at Texas can consider itself among the 10 best programs in the country.
Texas has won the silver medal in Golfweek’s final rankings for the 2019-20 season. The Longhorns trailed only Southern California in the rankings. UT finished fourth during the 2018-19 season and seventh during its 2017-18 campaign.
Texas earned a top-five finish in each of its seven events this season. The Longhorns won the Schooner Fall Classic, the Betsy Rawls Invitational and the White Sands Invitational. UT also recorded three of the top-five 54-hole totals in its history.
Like the rest of the spring sports at Texas, the golf season abruptly ended less than two weeks ago due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Longhorns were looking to win their first NCAA championship this year.
It was a great season albeit a short one. We reached the top & will reach it again. Sports play an important role in America and soon they’ll be back. Until then, wishing everyone good health & speedy recoveries to those affected by this virus. Let’s look after one another🤘 pic.twitter.com/Yr3SlO5iNQ
