Scottie Scheffler leads Texas men’s golf after two rounds at Aggie Invitational

The Texas men’s golf team shot 291 and 290 in the first two rounds of the Aggie Invitational in Bryan on Saturday. They are currently tied for fifth place.

Scottie Scheffler led the Longhorns, shooting 71 in each round of Saturday’s action. At 2-under he’s tied for eighth, trailing the leader Kyle Mueller of Michigan by four shots. Scheffler accounted for six birdies and 26 pars on the day.

Doug Ghim and Spencer Soosman are tied for 16th  at 1-over par while Steven Chervony is tied for 31st. Chervony is 5-over after two rounds.


Nick Costello is tied for 67th while Taylor Funk is competing as an individual and is tied for 64th. Costello is 15-over, one shot behind Funk who is 14-over.

LSU has the team lead at 11-under par.

Texas will begin the final round on Sunday at 12:40 p.m.
