Scottie Scheffler led the Longhorns men’s golf team with a 67 as Texas finished in fourth place at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii on Saturday.
The No. 16 Longhorns shot 279 in the final round to finish at 23-under 841. Oklahoma State won after shooting 817.
Spencer Soosman led Texas overall, finishing the tournament in a tie for sixth place at 10-under 206. He followed up consecutive rounds of 68 with a 70 on Saturday.
Scheffler improved from the previous day’s round of 72, making five birdies on the day. Scheffler and teammate Doug Ghim finished in a tie for 13th place. Ghim shot 69 on Saturday and finished at 8-under 208.
Drew Jones shot 73 and Nick Costello finished the competition with a round of 75. Jones tied for 64th while Costello finished in a tie for 86th.
Steven Chervony competed as an individual and shot a 70 to finish in a tie for 29th at 4-under 212. Christoffer Bring also competed individually and finished in a tie for 86th.
Justin Suh of Southern California won the individual title after shooting 13-under 203 for the tournament.
