Doug Ghim named a semifinalist for Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year

Texas senior golfer Doug Ghim is a semifinalist for the 2018 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year award, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday.

Ghim leads the Longhorns with a stroke average of 70.04 and has two individual wins this season. He most recently tied for first place at the Big 12 Championships.

The senior is also a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award and the Fred Haskins Award.


Jack Nicklaus will announce the Division I winner on May 31 during the final round of the Memorial Tournament.

Ghim is among 30 semifinalists and one of eight from the Big 12.
