Longhorns sweep Texas Diving Invitational

Texas men’s divers made it a 1-2-3-4 day at the Texas Diving Invitational at the Texas Swimming Center on Saturday.

Jordan Windle won the platform event with a score of 415.90 points. That made three victories over the last three days for the Texas junior. He also won the 1-meter event on Thursday and the 3-meter competition on Friday.

Reed Merritt took second place with a score of 349.65 points.


Andrew Harness took third while Jacob Cornish earned a fourth-place finish. Harness scored 348.55 points and Cornish secured 342.90 points.

The women swept the top three spots in Saturday’s competition as well.

Paola Pineda won the platform contest with 277.35 points. She rode a strong first dive to the win.

Janie Boyle scored 274.95 points to take second place, making her move on her last dive.

Jordan Skilken made it 1-2-3 for Texas, scoring 258.40 points to take third place.

On Friday, Alison Gibson made it a springboard sweep as she won the 1-meter competition with 320.90 points. She won Thursday’s 3-meter event as well.

The men and women next compete at the Minnesota Invitational on Dec. 4 in Minneapolis.
