Texas divers qualify for NCAA Championships

Mark Anderson won the platform diving event at the NCAA Zone D diving meet in College Station on Wednesday to qualify for his third event for the NCAA Championships.

Anderson scored 812.30 points, needing just a top-12 finish to qualify. He joins divers Cory Bowersox and Sean O’Brien along with 17 Texas swimmers who qualified for the NCAA Championships which begin on March 23 in Atlanta, Ga.

In the women’s diving events at the zone meet, Booke Pospichal and Kristina Hoffmann finished in the top-16 of the platform event.

Pospichal finished in 12th place with 479 points while Hoffmann scored 453.05 points and finished in 16th place.

Pospichal and Hoffmann will join Meghan O’Brien and Meghan Houston at the NCAA Championships which starts on March 17. O’Brien and Houston will compete in the one-meter and three-meter events.
