Despite a George Goldhoff victory over another top-40 opponent, the No. 19 Texas Longhorns men’s tennis team fell to the No. 21 Arkansas Razorbacks 4-3 at Westwood Country Club on Wednesday night.

Goldhoff defeated No. 32 Mike Redlicki 6-2, 7-6 (6) to keep the Longhorns alive, but a three-set loss in the final singles match clinched the win for Arkansas. The win for Goldhoff was his second victory over a top-40 player in less than a month.

Harrison Scott and John Mee took the first doubles match 6-2 over Santiago Munoz and Johan den Toom, but Arkansas won the next two doubles matches to take the point.

Two straight singles wins by Jose Salazar and Giammarco Micolani gave the Razorbacks a 3-2 lead. Salazar defeated Scott 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 after Micolani defeated Rodrigo Banzer 6-3, 6-2.

Goldhoff’s win tied the match at 3-all, but David Herrerias defeated Julian Zlobinsky 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-2 at sixth singles to give the Razorbacks the 4-3 win.
