The No. 17 Texas men’s tennis team swept the No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys 4-0 at the Polo Tennis Club on Friday night.
The Longhorns (16-7, 1-1 Big 12) earned the doubles point and took three singles victories to complete the dominating sweep.
George Goldhoff and Julian Zlobinsky defeated Arjun Kadhe and Tristan Meraut 6-3 before Adrian Ortiz and Michael Riechmann bested Lucas Gerch and Jurence Mendoza 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.
Riechmann defeated Lukas Finzelberg 7-5, 6-1 at fifth singles to put Texas up 2-0. Goldhoff then made it 3-0 in favor of Texas with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Julian Cash.
Rodrigo Banzer clinched the match win for Texas with a 7-5, 6-2 singles victory over Meraut.
Texas will next host a pair of matches on Sunday. First they’ll take on No. 9 Oklahoma at 1 p.m. at the Polo Tennis Club. They’ll follow that up with a match versus Prairie View A&M at 5 p.m.
