The tenth-ranked Texas men’s tennis team won three singles contests after taking the doubles point to defeat Virginia Tech 4-3 Saturday at the Weller Tennis Center.
Julian Zlobinsky and Harrison Scott took a doubles win before Leo Telles and George Goldhoff sealed the point at first doubles. Zlobinsky and Scott defeated Henrick Korsgaard and Jason Kros 6-3 while Telles and Goldhoff won 6-4 over Jai Corbett and Abraham Asaba.
John Mee and Scott each earned a singles victory before Telles sealed the match with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Kros.
Mee defeated George Cartledge easily, coming away with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Scott defeated Mitch Harper 6-3, 7-5 to put Texas one win away from sealing the match.
Virginia Tech won its singles matches after Texas clinched the win.
The Longhorns will next play a doubleheader on Feb. 12 as they host Purdue and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the Weller Tennis Center.
