The Texas men’s tennis team cruised to a 4-0 semifinal win over Oklahoma Saturday to advance to the Big 12 championship match.

The Longhorns will take on Baylor at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Texas Tennis Center for the Big 12 title. The Bears upset the top-seeded TCU Horned Frogs, 4-2, in the other semifinal.

After winning the doubles point, Adrian Ortiz, Yuya Ito and Rodrigo Banzer won their singles matches to seal the victory.

Banzer topped Max Stewart 6-2, 6-4 to send the Longhorns to the final.

Texas opened with a doubles win by Ito and Colin Markes. The duo defeated Adrian Oetzbach and Jochen Bertsch 6-2. Leonardo Telles and Ortiz wrapped up the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Ferran Calvio and Stefano Tsorotiotis.

Ortiz kept the wins coming when he triumphed, 6-1, 6-1, over Tsorotiotis at sixth singles.

Ito pulled the Longhorns to within a win of the match with his 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jake Van Emburgh.

In the final, the Texas men’s tennis team gets to sidestep TCU, who they lost to on April 7. Instead Texas will face Baylor, a team they swept last Sunday.
