Texas to host opening rounds of NCAA Tennis Championships

The Longhorns earned the No. 11 seed in the men’s NCAA Tennis Championships and will host the first two rounds, the NCAA announced Tuesday.

The 17-6 UT squad will take on Bryant Friday at 4 p.m. at the Texas Tennis Center. The winner will face the winner of the N.C. State-California match on Saturday at noon. The Wolfpack faces the Golden Bears on Friday at 1 p.m.

The Longhorns hosted the opening round last season as well. Texas heads into the tournament after winning the Big 12 tournament for the first time since 2010.


TCU and Oklahoma of the Big 12 are also seeded in the men’s tournament.

The winner of the second round will advance to the round of 16 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
