The Texas men’s tennis team topped Bryant 4-0 to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament at the Texas Tennis Center Friday.
The Longhorns won the doubles point before making quick work of the Bulldogs in singles action.
Christian Sigsgaard defeated Matt Kuhar 6-1, 6-4 to seal the victory.
The win sets up a second-round match with California on Saturday at 3 p.m. California defeated N.C. State 4-1 Friday.
Yuya Ito and Colin Markes opened the doubles competition with a 6-2 win over Luke Lorenz and Grant Pertile.
Harrison Scott and Sigsgaard sealed the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Kuhar and Artur Jakubowski.
Scott moved on to singles and bested Jakubowski again, 6-1, 6-2 this time to put Texas up 2-0.
John Mee set Texas up for the win as he defeated Wilson Dong 6-2, 6-3.
