Rodrigo Banzer and Christian Sigsgaard each qualified for the singles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Tuesday.
Banzer defeated Yancy Dennis of South Carolina 7-5, 6-2 before topping Tim Handel of Northern Arizona, 6-4, 6-0.
Sigsgaard won 7-5, 7-6 (2) over Reese Stalder of TCU in the second round. He then topped Nick Stachowiak, 6-1, 6-1 in the third round.
Banzer and Sigsgaard will be back in action on Oct. 4 for the main draw. Sigsgaard will also compete in the doubles draw with partner Harrison Scott.
Tuesday’s results made the Longhorns the school with the most competitors in the main draw. Yuya Ito will also compete in singles.
