Men’s tennis team closes out fall slate on soggy Sunday

Texas junior Johnny Goodwin's match in the main draw is canceled because of the weather.

The weather put a damper on the finish of the Longhorn Invitational on Sunday.

UT junior Johnny Goodwin’s match against Matheus Ferreira Leite of Texas Tech was canceled, but senior Colin Markes and freshman Chih Chi Huang had strong finishes in the consolation draw. Markes defeated Tulane’s Hamish Stewart 6-1, 6-2, and Huang topped Tyler Schick, also of Tulane, 6-1, 6-0.

The tournament was the last event of the fall tennis schedule for the Longhorns.
