The No. 1 Texas men’s tennis team defeated Oklahoma State 4-3 to win at least a share of the Big 12 regular-season title Friday night in Stillwater.

Leonardo Telles defeated Mathieu Scaglia 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to clinch the victory for Texas.

The Longhorns had built a 3-1 lead after Harrison Scott won 6-4, 6-2 over Emile Hudd, but the Cowboys fought back to tie it at 3-3.

Oklahoma State took a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point before the Longhorns won three straight singles contests.

Yuya Ito tied the match 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Maxim Tybar.

Colin Markes gave Texas the lead when he defeated Luke Hammond 6-4, 6-1.

The men’s first-ever No. 1 ranking by the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association was in jeopardy when the Cowboys came back to tie the match. Telles battled back after dropping the second set to make sure the Longhorns held on for the win.
