Posted September 17th, 2019

The Texas men’s tennis team has three singles players and one doubles team listed in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, released Tuesday.

Christian Sigsgaard is No. 2 while Yuya Ito claimed the No. 4 spot. Texas is the only school in the nation with two players in the top five.

The doubles pair of Sigsgaard and Ito took the No. 17 spot.

Chih Chi Huang is No. 122 in singles.

Sigsgaard was a singles and doubles All-American last year as he helped Texas claim the National Championship.

Ito earned honors as a singles All-American as well last season.

Despite losing five seniors, Texas has talent incoming to replenish the roster. The Longhorns earned the top-ranked recruiting class and will welcome Jacob Bullard, Evin McDonald, Eshan Talluri and Siem Woldeab this season.
