Texas men’s tennis tops SMU on the road

The No. 2 Texas men’s tennis team improved to 2-0 after defeating SMU 6-1 in Dallas on Saturday.
The Longhorns swept singles action after losing the doubles point to take the win.
Cleve Harper clinched the competition with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jordi Redelijk.
Yuya Ito and Christian Sigsgaard fell to Caleb Chakravarthi and Tomas Vaise 6-3 in doubles, but both rebounded with straight sets wins in singles. Ito gave Texas its sixth win with a 6-3, 7-6 (0) triumph over Chakravarthi. Sigsgaard tied the match at 1-1 when he defeated Vaise 6-3, 6-3 to open singles action.
Jacob Bullard made it 2-1 when he defeated Huntley Allen 7-5, 6-2.
Siem Woldeab kept Texas on the right track with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Carles Sarrio.
Eliot Spizzirri had the other singles win for Texas, topping Ethan Leon 6-3, 6-3.
