The No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners clinched a series win as the Texas softball team committed five errors, leading to a 7-1 OU victory in Norman, Okla. on Saturday.
Sydney Romero hit a grand slam, scored two runs and had five RBIs to lead the Sooners to the win.
Taylor Ellsworth hit a homer for Texas in the third inning for the Longhorns’ only run.
The Sooners tied the game in the bottom of the third, however. Ellsworth lost control of the ball as she attempted to apply a tag on Hannah Sparks at home.
After the Sooners took the lead in the fifth by adding two runs, Romero put the game out of reach with her grand slam in the sixth.
Paige Lowary picked up the win, allowing no runs on no hits in four innings of relief.
Paige von Sprecken suffered the loss, allowing seven runs, only four earned, on three hits through six innings.
