Texas softball sweeps Saturday doubleheader

The Texas softball team won twice Saturday, defeating Weatherford College 8-0 before taking down St. Edward’s 9-0 in fall softball action.
The wins at McCombs Field made the Longhorns 4-0 for the fall softball season.
Four UT pitchers allowed just seven hits on the day in 14 innings.
Chloe Romero and Ariana Adams pitched in the win over Weatherford. Romero gave up three hits in four innings while Adams didn’t give up a hit in three frames.
Brooke Bolinger pitched four innings and gave up one hit in the win over St. Edward’s. Shea O’Leary was in the circle for three innings and gave up three hits.
Janae Jefferson had four hits and two RBIs on the day. Reagan Hathaway drove in four runs while Taylor Ellsworth had three hits and a double.
The Longhorns will play another doubleheader Wednesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. They’ll face Galveston College before taking on Blinn College at McCombs Field.
