Texas softball team ends fall season perfect

The Texas softball team finished up the fall season perfect as they defeated Texas State 5-0 at McCombs Field Friday night.

The Longhorns end their first fall season with new head coach Mike White at 7-0.

Three Longhorns pitchers combined to shutout the Bobcats, allowing just four hits on the night.


Brooke Bolinger got the start and struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings. She gave up one hit in the process.

Tuesday DerMargosian went 2 for 3 with a steal and an RBI. Taylor Ellsworth drove in three runs as she went 1 for 2 with a walk and sacrifice fly.

Kaitlyn Washington also went 2 for 3.

Texas went up 1-0 on Ellsworth’s sac fly in the third before scoring four runs in the sixth.

Shea O’Leary gave up three hits in an inning while Ariana Adams preserved the shutout by getting the final two outs.
