With a 7-2 win at McCombs Field on Sunday, Texas completed a sweep of Iowa State and remained perfect in Big 12 play.
Texas collected 10 hits, one of which a two-run home run by junior outfielder Kaitlyn Washington that gave UT a 2-0 lead. The homer was the seventh of Washington’s career. Five of those homers have been hit against Iowa State.

Texas (29-6; 3-0) will next make a short trip to Waco on Wednesday. The Longhorns will then travel to Oklahoma State this upcoming weekend for a three-game series. Texas and Oklahoma State were ranked 10th and 21st in the NFCA poll this week.
Iowa State now owns a 3-56 record in its all-time series with Texas. The Cyclones, however, did win twice during their 2017 trip to Austin. This weekend, the Iowa State (17-13; 0-3) lost its three games against UT by a combined score of 24-3.
