Samantha Clakley pitched a shutout as the Oklahoma State Cowgirls defeated the Texas softball team 8-0 in five innings in Stillwater on Saturday.
Shea O’Leary (11-1) suffered the first loss of her UT career after allowing three runs on two hits in 1 1/3 innings.
Clakley (6-3) dominated in the circle for Oklahoma State, scattering three hits in five innings while striking out three.
Rylee Bayless powered the offense, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a home run and three RBIs. Samantha Show was also perfect at the plate, doubling and hitting a homer on the way to scoring two runs and driving in two more.
The Cowgirls scored two runs in the first inning before Bayless and Show each homered in the second to build a 5-0 lead. Show hit an RBI double in the fourth before Bayless closed out the game with an RBI single in the fifth.
Janae Jefferson, Kaitlyn Slack and Tuesday DerMargosian each had a hit for Texas.
The Longhorns will try to avoid a series sweep Sunday at 1 p.m. in Stillwater.
