Texas men qualifies trio of divers for NCAA championships

Posted March 11th, 2019

Texas, looking to extend its streak to five straight national titles, qualified three divers in the first day of zone qualifying.

The goal is to get as many divers as possible into the NCAA swimming and diving championships. Texas is playing host to both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving meets later this month.

On Monday, Grayson Campbell, Jordan Windle and Jake Cornish qualified for the 1-meter springboard.

The Longhorn men, during their four-year national title streak, have scored big points in the three diving events.

Windle was fifth on the 1-meter a year ago, Campbell finished eighth and Cornish was 10th.

Qualifying continues through Wednesday at the Jamail Texas Swim Center.

The women’s NCAA championships are scheduled for March 20-23. The men are set for March 27-30.
