Yuya Ito and Christian Sigsgaard each earned All-American status for men’s singles competition while sisters Anna and Bianca Turati also earned the honor, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Tuesday.
Ito earned the honor for the third time while Sigsgaard makes it two All-America honors.
Ito finished No. 2 in the ITA singles rankings while Sigsgaard took the No. 6 spot. Ito finished 28-4 overall and Sigsgaard went 20-6.
Setting a Big 12 record for player of the week awards in a shortened season, Ito won the honor four times.
Sigsgaard went 5-0 against top-20 competition, including three wins over players in the top 10.
Ito made history by becoming the third men’s player to win both the ITA All-American Championships and the ITA Fall National Championships in the same season. Those victories made him the national player of the month in October and November.
On the women’s side, Anna Turati earned the honor for the first time as she finished No. 4 in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings. She had a 22-4 record, including an 11-1 mark in the spring dual-match season.
Bianca Turati earned the status as an All-American for the second time with her No. 14 ranking and three wins over top-10 competition.
She competed in professional tournaments during the summer and fall and won a pair of titles.
