The Texas women’s golf team took third place to open the fall season at the Minnesota Invitational at the Minikahda Club in Minneapolis Tuesday.
Freshman Greta Völker finished in a tie for tenth place for her Texas debut as the Longhorns had three competitors finish in the top-20.
The freshman’s third-round 78 gave her a final score of 221, 5-over-par, to lead the Longhorns.
The Longhorns shot a combined 891 (+27), nine shots behind Furman and Purdue. Furman won a playoff to take the championship.
Emilee Hoffman, another freshman at UT, shot a 74 to finish in 12th place, jumping four spots in the final round. She had two birdies on the day.
Sophia Schubert moved up eight spots to finish tied for 17th after shooting a 73 on Monday.
Julia Beck shot a 76 to finish tied for 27th while Dominique Galloway shot a 78 to finish 53rd.
Halee Harford of Furman and Isabell Johannson of Kentucky won medalist honors as they each shot 68 in the final round.
The Longhorns get back on the course when they compete at the Lady Paladin at Furman beginning on Friday, Sept. 23.
