The No. 20 Texas Longhorns women’s golf team shot 6-under, 282 in the final round of the Betsy Rawls Invitational to take third place at UT Golf Club on Tuesday.
Texas finished at 2-over overall, shooting 866 for the three-round tournament.
Kent State took their second straight title at the event, finishing at 2-under, 862. Miami took second place, one stroke behind Kent State, as Dewi Weber earned medalist honors for the Hurricanes.
Greta Volker led the Longhorns with a 214, 2-under finish and a tie for fifth place. She shot a team-low 68 for the final round. Volker made five birdies on the day.
“We’re getting better and better. I’m excited to see what we will do in the spring season,” the freshman said.
Emilee Hoffman, another freshman, also shot a 68 and finished the tournament in a tie for ninth at 217, 1-over. She made four birdies and avoided a bogey all day.
“Greta and Emily are simply not afraid to go low and shoot low scores. There’s a lot of offensive ability there. They make a lot of birdies,” head coach Ryan Murphy said of the Texas freshmen.
Julia Beck tied for 11th at 2-over while Haley Mills finished a shot back for a tie for 13th. Mills, along with Maddie Luitwieler and Anne Hakula competed as individuals.
Sophia Schubert and Dominique Galloway each finished in the top-25 for the Longhorns. Schubert tied for 16th at 4-over while Galloway finished at 9-over for a tie for 25th.
Luitweiler tied for 58th while Hakula was 74th.
Texas will finish up the fall season with the Las Vegas Collegiate beginning October 23rd at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
