The Texas Longhorns women’s golf team sits in fourth place after the first round of the Clemson Invitational in Sunset, S.C.
Sophia Schubert had the best round in Friday’s action for the Longhorns. She shot a 69 to finish the day in second place, trailing Alice Chen of Furman by one shot. Schubert had five birdies in the round.
Greta Isabella Voelker, Emilee Hoffman and Julia Beck each shot 74 to sit in a tie for 27th.
Haley Mills is tied for 51st after shooting 76, 4-over.
Overall the Longhorns shot 291, six shots behind Furman which shot 285 as a team.
The three-round tournament continues Saturday at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, teeing off at noon.
