Texas leads at Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational after two rounds

After two rounds of action at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, Sophia Schubert and the Texas Longhorns lead the field.

Schubert shot a 68 in the first round and followed with a 72 in the second round to sit at 4-under at the top of the leaderboard. She made six birdies in her first round.

As a team Texas shot 292 and 297 in the first and second rounds to sit at 13-over, one shot ahead of Michigan State.


Haley Mills is in a tie for fourth after shooting a 71 in the second round to follow her first-round 74. She had seven total birdies on the day.

Greta Isabella Voelker is at 7-over and in a tie for 22nd while Emilee Hoffman and Maddie Luitwieler are tied for 44th at 14-over. Voelker made seven birdies in the first two rounds and Texas had 28 total for a tournament-high.

Julia Beck rounds out the Texas golfers at 21-over, in a tie for 67th.

The Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational concludes on Sunday and the Longhorns will tee off at 7:30 a.m. with Michigan State and third-place Illinois.
