Texas freshman Kaitlyn Papp shot a 69 for the second time at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational as the Longhorns finished in third place in Tucson, Ariz. Tuesday.
Papp finished with an overall score of 210 to take fourth place and end up eight shots back from the winner, Lilia Vu of UCLA. It was her second straight top-five finish.
“This week was another good showing for us,” Texas head coach Ryan Murphy said. “A third place behind No. 1 UCLA and host Arizona is very respectable. And, four of our five players finished inside the top 15, so that is always a good thing. ”
A set of Papp’s teammates weren’t far behind in a tie for ninth place. Greta Voelker and Agathe Laisne each shot 216.
Maddie Luitwieler tied for 14th after shooting 218. She followed up a first-round 69 with a 77 and a 72.
Emilee Hoffman finished at 226, 10 over par to round out the Texas competitors. She tied for 45th.
UCLA won the tournament after shooting 847, 17 under par.
