Texas golfer Emilee Hoffman took third place at the TRANS National Golf Association Amateur Championship Friday in Maryville, Calif.
The junior shot 282, 6 under par at the Peach Tree Golf and Country Club to follow up her win at the Western Golf Association National Amateur Championship in June.
A final-round 67 helped Hoffman move into top-3 position after shooting three rounds in the 70s. She opened with a 71 before a 74 in the second round and a 70 in the third round.
Kathleen Scavo of Oregon won the event after shooting 280. Ziyi Wang took second with a score of 281.
As a sophomore, Hoffman took honors as an All-American honorable mention. She took second-place finishes at the Betsy Rawls Invitational and the Big 12 Championship.
