Texas golfers finish in top-10 at Canadian Women’s Amateur

A pair of Longhorns competed at the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship in Vancouver, British Columbia and came out with top-10 finishes.

Kaitlyn Papp shot 3-under-par 281 to finish in a tie for eighth place. She made 14 birdies and made par 47 times in the 72-hole event.

Emilee Hoffman shot 282 to finish in 10th at the tournament. She totaled 12 birdies and made par 49 times. Hoffman also made an eagle, one of just 12 players to do so in the tournament.

The UT golfers have been pretty busy this summer. Papp and the United States won the Arnold Palmer Cup earlier this summer. Hoffman won the Women’s Western Amateur Championship.

Yealimi Noh of Concord, Calif. won the title. The 17-year-old shot 71 Friday after shooting in the 60s in each of the first three rounds to claim the title at 11 under par.
