UT women finish third in Battle of the Beach at Cabo San Lucas
Kaitlyn Papp ties for seventh, her third top 10 of the season

The second-ranked Texas women’s golf team earned its fourth top-five finish in four events this fall with a third place at the Battle of the Beach in Cabo San Lucas, on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.
Kaitlyn Papp shot a 68 Sunday for a three-day total of 214, 1 over par, to tie for seventh. It was the sophomore’s third top 10 of the season.
Four Longhorns made the top 20. Hailee Cooper, at 216, tied for 12th, and Greta Isabella Voelker and Agathe Laisne tied for 19th at 219.
Auburn won the team title with an 845 total, 7 under par. TCU was 17 strokes back, and UT was three behind the Horned Frogs.
Auburn’s Kaleigh Telfer and Clemson’s Ana Paula Valdes shared first in the individual standings at 5-under-par 208.
Texas’ next event will be the Northrop Grumman Intercollegiate in February at Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
