Hailee Cooper wins Bruzzy Challenge

Hailee Cooper shot 70 in the final round of the Bruzzy Challenge at Lantana Golf Club in Argyle to earn a share of the title and lead the Texas women to a tie for seventh place Tuesday.

Cooper shot a total of 207 over three rounds to sit at 9 under par. Gurleen Kaur of Baylor also shot 207. After Cooper shot a 70 in the first round, she carded a 67 in the second round. That was the best round of the tournament for Texas.

Sará Kousková had the next-best performance for the Longhorns, shooting 216, even. She tied for 17th.


Maddie Luitwieler finished in a tie for 41st at 222, 6 over par.

As a team Texas finished at 873, 9 over par. Baylor won the event, shooting 854, 10 under par.
