Texas women’s golf tied for lead at NCAA Championship

The Texas women’s golf team sits in a tie for first after the first round of stroke play at the NCAA Championship in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Horns shot 302 on Friday to tie with Arkansas for the lead.

Emilee Hoffman led the Longhorns as she shot 72 and sits tied for second individually.


Agathe Laisne shot 75 and is tied for 13th.

Kaitlyn Papp sits tied for 27th after shooting 77 while Sara Kouskova is back one stroke from Papp, tied for 39th.

Hailee Cooper rounded out the Longhorns’ scores, sitting tied for 67th after shooting 80.

Bianca Pagdanganan of Arizona holds the overall lead after carding a 69. Arizona and Stanford are tied for third in team standings while Duke sits in fifth place.

The top 15 teams through three rounds advance to a fourth and final round of stroke play on Monday. The top eight teams after that move on to match play Tuesday and Wednesday.
